Update – 7th March 2025: Eurostar Disruption

Due to the discovery of an unexploded WWII bomb near Paris Gare du Nord, all Eurostar services between London St Pancras and Paris Gare du Nord are suspended on 7 March 2025.

Customers with National Rail tickets (Advance, Anytime, Off-Peak, Rovers, Rangers, Interrail, and BritRail Passes) and a valid Eurostar ticket can:

✅ Travel on an alternative UK rail service today (7 March).

✅ Use their existing National Rail ticket on the new date their Eurostar journey is rebooked for.

🔹 London Underground travel is only valid on the original ticket date. Customers travelling on a different day must use pay-as-you-go or buy a separate Underground ticket.

🔹 Seat reservations cannot be guaranteed for travel on a different day.

🔹 Advance tickets can only be changed outside this policy under standard terms and conditions.

To travel, customers must present their Eurostar ticket along with their National Rail ticket.

Upcoming strikes

The RMT Union has announced that industrial action will impact Avanti West Coast services on every Sunday from 12 January to 25 May 2025. For more details, please refer to this link.

At this time, no further industrial action from other operators has been announced. Should any updates arise, this page will be updated accordingly.

Ticket validity arrangements

If you hold a ticket dated on a strike day falling within the date ranges above, you can use it as-is on a number of alternative days. You do not need to replace your ticket or re-book.


This policy applies to tickets where any leg of the journey involves travelling on an affected trains.

Valid on Saturday 8 February 2025 or up to and including Tuesday 11 February 2025

This applies to customers completing their rail journeys wholly with Avanti West Coast, as
well as journeys with Avanti West Coast and connecting operators.

Travel within London: Customers presenting magstripe National Rail tickets (Singles, Returns or Season Tickets) for journeys across London are permitted to travel on TfL services (bus, Tube, tram or DLR) on reasonable routes only, on the days of the National Rail industrial action only. Please note if your ticket is for a journey that includes crossing London it will not be valid on London Underground services on an alternative date.
